IBC SOLAR AG (Bad Staffelstein, Germany), with an excellent track record as bankable EPC contractor, is now moving into solar photovoltaic (PV) project business development in India, the company announced on September 24th, 2015.
For several years, the German PV system provider has been achieving successes with the planning and implementation of international large-scale solar plants, such as in Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Portugal, India, Malaysia and other countries. In India the company is now using its reputation and expertise to expand its portfolio as a project developer and financer.
Currently IBC SOLAR is assessing cooperation with different PV project developers in the segment of 20 MW to 50 MW projects.
Besides this, the company is supplementing its portfolio of equity investments partners. Leveraging on its experience in the German trade and project market as well as in growing international markets for large-scale PV projects, the company can build on a good reputation in India, based on its network of financing institutions, its solvency, and full control over costs, quality and timing, which raise the bankability of every single project.
By entering into the development process with developers in an early stage, IBC SOLAR aims to add expertise on the financing side, both on the equity as well as on the debt side. The combination of having deep technology expertise, being the EPC contractor and by being an equity investor will add credibility and reliability to projects.
“We’re convinced about the huge potential of the Indian PV market. We know that solar power can help to solve the increasing demand for electricity in India,” says Reinhard Ling, Managing Director at IBC SOLAR Projects Private Ltd. in Mumbai.
“Until now, we have made a name for ourselves as an EPC service provider in India. As a recognized and financially strong project developer, we now cover the entire process and value chain, including project development and finance. Our aim is to stay in India as a partner for mutually beneficial long-term cooperation.”
At the Solar Finance Tour India Conference, a presentation of IBC SOLAR’s Vice President Josef Eichhammer will focus on “Lessons Learned from installing over 150,000 PV systems around the globe” (October 8th at 2:15 p.m., Park Hyatt, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad).
